Rivers Tribunal ADJOURNS Till Tomorrow,After Series of Arguement

The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Apo High Court,Abuja has adjourned till tomorow Tuesday 15th September 2015 for continuation of hearing on the Petition brought by Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressive Congress(APC) against the electoral victory of Governor Nyesom Wike.

The decision to adjourn till tomorow followed plea by Counsel to both governor Nyesom Wike and that of the Independent National Electoral Commsion(INEC) over the decision of the Justice Mohammed Ambrosa led three man Tribunal Panel to modify the days for the Petitioners and the respondents to present their various witness.

Recall that PUO REPORTS had few hour reported that the Tribunal modified to 10days and 6days respectively for Dakuku Peterside,both Governor Wike and INEC to present their witness.

After 20minutes of recess, Counsel to Dakuku Peterside Akin Olujinmi SAN pleaded they be given 12days to enable them present all their witnesses,instead of 10days which the Judge earlier told them,while Counsel to Governor Wike Okey Wali SAN argued that should the Tribunal give Dakuku Peterside 12days,then theirs should be 9days instead of 6days as earleir conveyed by the Judge.

The Judge revealed to both the Petitioner and the Respondents that time constraints had been his major issue since he resumed as the Chairman of the Tribunal

“We have been thinking about this modifications since I resumed here” the Judge stated.

After Series of argument,Counsel to Governor Wike raised a motion for adjournment to help them acclimatize with the new modification,his prayer was answered and the Tribunal was adjourned to Tuesday 15th September 2015
