Earlier today, Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, visited the new relief market, under construction at Amuzukwu area of Umuahia, for sale of perishable goods such as food materials and Isi gate area where he met traders.

Governor Ikpeazu who was cheered by the traders informed them that his administration is set to move those who sell perishable goods to the new relief market while those selling non perishable goods will be moved to Ubani market. He emphasized that it was because of the love he has for them that he insisted that they should not be moved until he constructs an alternative market for those selling perishable goods.

Governor Ikpeazu assured that his administration is keen to redesign and beautify the Isi gate area into a befitting city center as well as construct a new state road to Ubani market which he described as the only recognized major wholesale market for Umuahia.
