The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has criticised the slow pace of Permanent Voter Cards distribution in the country.
Agbaje said the situation should be addressed ahead of next month’s general elections.
A statement from the office of the Directorate of Media and Publicity for the PDP governorship candidate made available to Saturday PUNCH on Friday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure the PVCs get to those who have yet to receive theirs.
Agbaje said ensuring that majority of eligible voters get their PVCs would remove suspicions that certain people might have regarding their issuance and distribution.

He stressed that it was particularly worrisome that certain categories of Lagosians, including non-indigenes, had been unable to obtain the document despite several attempts.
The PDP governorship candidate, however, urged Lagos residents not to despair over the development and ensure they make efforts to collect their cards.
