The people of Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state have vowed to vote massively for Dr Alex Otti in the Feb 28 governorship election, saying that the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) remains the right man to transform the state and restore it to the path of prosperity.Obingwa people spoke against the backdrop of mammoth crowd comprising men and women of impeccable status, and various youth groups that were readily on ground to receive Otti and his campaign train who were in the area last weekend to seek their votes.

Welcoming Otti and his entourage, Dr. George Chidozie, who is equally gunning to represent Obingwa East constituency in the state House of Assembly, declared the peoples’ age long yearning for positive change in the governance of Abia

“You can see through the crowd that have gathered here today that our people seek for positive change. It is an indication that they have found in Otti the man to drive the change and their gathering today in this large number is a clear registration of their resolve to vote massively for Otti to become the next governor of Abia state come February 28,” declared Chidozie.

Interestingly, Obingwa was hitherto branded a no-go-area for APGA, and Otti being the home front of two of Otti’s opponents in the governorship race, namely, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nyerere Anyim of the All Progressive Congress (APC). But the large turnout has proved bookmakers wrong and is a clear testimony that the people are earnestly rooting for the former General Managing Director (GMD) of Diamond Bank as their next governor.

Responding, Otti thanked the people of Obingwa for their unflinching support, disclosing that he has mapped out a blueprint to transform and bring positive economic and social development to the state if elected governor, stressing that he is coming into government to wipe away the tears of Abia people who had suffered immeasurably in the past.
