The River state police command today asked electorate to go back to the various houses immediately after casting their votes. The police spokesperson in the state made the disclosure why speaking with Journalist at the force Headquaters Mosco Road Portharcourt.
The Police stand is contray to the instruction given by some political parties to their members to remain at the polling units after casting their votes to ensure no one tried rigging the election.Promise Uzoma Okoro reports that after River State Governor Rotimi Amaechi decamped to the APC,the state Police command has since compromised its loyalty to the PDP.
When the Former commission of Police in the state Mr.Mbu was at service in the state,the state witnessed series of crises to an extent a Senator of the Federal Republic was hit by stray bullet in Portharcourt.
This move by the River state Police command is seen by APC as an attempt to rig the state election in favour of the PDP.
