23 Political Parties Call For Interim Govt in Borno

Twenty-three political parties have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to postpone elections in the state by five months;


The 23 political parties asked INEC to set up an interim government when the the tenure of the present government elapses due to the postponement. The parties cited insecurity in the state and a charged political climate as the reasons why they wanted the elections postponed. 

The 23 political parties include; Independent Democrat, Social Democratic Party, Democratic Peoples Party, New Nigerian Peoples Party, Peoples Democratic Congress, Labour Party, Mega Progressives Peoples Party, Advanced Congress of Democrats, African Democratic Congress, Unity Party of Nigeria, African Peoples Alliance, United Democratic Party, Citizens Popular Party, Fresh Democratic Party, United Progressives Party, Peoples Party of Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Movement, National Conscience Party and Hope Democratic Party.
