Democracy is at the verge of collapse or Renovation,for the first time in the history of Nigeria opposition party takes sleep far away from a sitting President,the first time were a rulling party attacks instead of defending,the first very time where hate speech were carried out by a rulling party,and the very first time were a former dictators was immediately baptized into a converted democrat.
Since i became composmentised with History and Politics in Nigeria,this is the first time a sitting President employed enemies parading as campaign directors,It is very important we as nigerias note that there is breath of change in the air,but there is one question that needs cojent answer and that question is ,of what value is Jonathan to Ndi Igbo?
During the Biafrai civil war,i was reliably informed by my mother who witnessed the war that River state aided Nigeria troops to defeat Umu Biafra because the Nigerian Government under the watch of Gen.Yakubu Gowon promised them Presidential slot,a close look at the event so far every right thinking Igbo man will know that President Jonathan is the fulfilment and manifestation of that promise for betrayal by Gowon Led Government.
Am bleeding in the spirit because due to our Money hungry spirit,Igbos are now the looker’s of events,where ever Jonathan presses us that is where some of our compromised Leaders go to,Igbos have soled their brith right to a president who after 6years was unable to account for a single project he commissioned in Igbo Land,Ndi igbo are now mercineries because of the love for money and my fears is that an igbo man may not smear the Presidential seat of Nigeria unless there is a re-think.
Through out the 8yrs reign of former President Olusegun Obasanjo,election results were known even before the election proper,no wonder Obasanjo told Jonathan when he appointed Prof.Attahiru Jega that if you wish to do bussiness,then consider an Igbo man because according to him A core Northerner hardly betrays his won Brother.Political pundits will pitch tenth with the former President because with the current insistance of Inec Boss,the winner of 2015 election will be decided on 28th March 2015.
Those we have in Igbo Land today are all men who have no interest wether the peasant masses in Igbo land eats or Not provided they are the Governors,Senators and Lawmakers in their various states then Jonathan has nothing to worry about,so much painful that the only region massively singing songs of praise for President Jonathan are the Igbo people,one wonders if what belongs to the Igbo man has been stolen or some of our failed leaders in connivance with failed President brought sorrows on our hearts while many other ethnic groups are smiling everyday.
On 7TH october 2014 Peter Obi buried a party (APGA)widely believed as an Igbo party,he left the party because he was promised that PDP will give him the parties ticket come 2019 after Jonathan might have completed his would never be second tenure,in as much as i applaud Peter Obi for his effort in governing Anambra to an acceptable stage,i still berate him for building the Largest Mall in Abuja instead of helping to develop Igbo land. For those who may never have known,Peter Obi is the owner of NEXT SHOPPING MALL located in Abuja which is widely reported as the most largest in Afriaca as a continent.
When i hear some Igbos talking about Biafra,i keep nodding an amusing head because unless the wake up,they will continue to be in illussion because Biafra is now a history,at a time we ought to make a bold attempt to align ourselves with the wind of Change,that is when Chief. T.A Orji,Sullivan Chime,Martin Elechi and Peter Obi saw the neccesity to sale our bightright to a man who has lost his home state of Bayelsa,a man who has lost Rivers state but Ndi Igbo which is not even related to Jonathan by history or Blood are seen as the highets region shouting Goodluck Jonathan till 2019.
My question continues to be,what can Jonathan boast he did for Ndi igbo to deserve their support,is it the bushy Enugu Airport? President Jonathan have been runing from Abuja to Lagos,Ondo to Ekiti and Ogun beggen their royal fathers,bringing out the money he couldnt use to build anything for them,It was reported that Goodluck Jonathan gave Lagos people 7Billion naira in bid to buy their hearts,but i think i hear it in the spirit that it is too late to make amendment.
I have stated that i have no problem with Jonathan as a person but i have problem with his failed leadership and dinning with convicted and corrupt past and present public office holders. Ndi igbo where are we going,what will be our stand if Jonathan succeeds to win(God Forbids) what will be our fate if Gen. Buhari wins (Hopefully)this election? Mathematically South east cant make Jonathan president but North can make Buhari President of Nigeria.
If Goodluck Jonathan did what he was elected to do,who and i repeat who will ever think of Gen.Buhari whose past is as dirty as a mad mans clothes,but because he abandoned the masses who voted for him and surrounded himself with dubious politicians who cannot offer anything good for him,at a point i started having safe pity were the President was,but 2015 elections is no longer going to be about pity as we did in 2011 because the future of Nigeria is important than that of the Otueke Born Zoologist.
When Late Ojukwu contested Presidential elections in 1999,2003 and 2007,the rate of support given to a failing President was never given to him despite the fact he was the last man who stood against the injustice melted to Biafrans,when shall those who we expect to lead us considers the future of Umuigbo at heart? The general election is just two weeks to come,international communities all knew that the masses in Nigeria are crying for a change of government,but my question points to one side what will be the fate of Ndi Igbo if Buhari emerges President come March 28 or 29 2015?
Our leaders have betrayed our trust,they have endangered our future and we the youths in Igbo land are crying for help because our birthright and support have been soled to a failed and incompetent President who will be sent back to his Otueke home come May 29th 2015.
