Former deputy Governor of Abia state and a former governorship contestant in the 2011 Governorship election in Abia state today during the APC South East Zonal Rally held at the Dan Anyanwu stadium in Owerri Imo state defected to the All Progressive Congress(APC)
Promise Uzoma Okoro gathered that Akomas zeal to join the APC was his convintion that the parties candidate in Saturdays Presidential election Gen.Mohammadu Buhari will win the election. According to Akoma’s my decion to pitch tenth with the APC is due to the overwelmed support its candidate has received so far.
It will be recalled that Chris Akomas was elected alongside the current Governor of Abia state Chief.T.A Orji in 2007 but the duo parted their ways after the deputy governor refused following his former boss to APGA,A move which the governor saw dangerous considering the fact that he was engaged in a running battle with his former boss Dr.Orji Uzor Kalu.
Akomas was received by the Apc chieftains and was congratulated for taken a good step at this political juncture in Nigeria.
