The National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has charged Nigerians to use the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to effect a revolutionary change of government on March 28th.
Asiwaju Tinubu gave the charge in Kano on Monday shortly after he commissioned the Corporate Security Institute, located in Gabasawa Local Government Area of Kano State. He was in the state on the invitation of his friend, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The former governor of Lagos State said that his message to Nigerians is to see the forthcoming election as a common sense revolution which would provide a platform to reform, re-change, to get relief for the society.
He urged them to use their votes to pursue the security of lives and property in Nigeria, to eliminate corruption and deception as well as ensure the recovery of the Nigerian economy.
He alleged that the Nigerian economy has pummelled from prosperity to recession as a result of the drop in oil price, adding that despite selling oil at the highest price ever, the economy could not stand the fall in oil price.
“If you cast you mind to some few years back, various governors of this country and the entire population are being deceived about the excess crude,” he added.
He queried that if actually the government had saved for the rainy day as claimed, how come the exchange rate of the naira has moved down from N110 to about 210.
On the outfit he commissioned, he praised the state government for giving priority to the security of lives and property, saying that the training of the young men would not only advance the cause of the ordinary man, but would help in the building the confidence of the people in the Kano society.
“We all know that without security, there can be no direct foreign investment and economic progress in any society. In a state like Kano state—that is a very large state, with a high population density, vehicular density, industrialization is very important”
“To have to educate and develop the skills of those who are to provide security, provide intelligence information and be able to cope with these challenges is a remark on the far-sightedness of the government,” he stated.
