The Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation in Rivers State, Emma Okah, has called on members of the party in the state to put the result of the presidential election behind them and prepare to win the governorship and state assembly elections.
“Every election is a contest and somebody must win or lose. Whatever our expectations may be, the most important thing is that the PDP has shown that the party is on ground in the state and will continue to dominate political activities in the state. Last Saturday, we won in the state and on April 11, we will prove our strength further,” he said.
According to Okah, “The last presidential election is historic and the post-election action of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in congratulating the winner, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) is deeply commendable. Posterity will be kind in judging our generation because when it mattered most, when it became necessary to be our brother’s keeper, PDP, in Rivers State, under the leadership of Chief Nyesom Wike, rose to the occasion, stood for our brother, an Ijaw man and a son of the South-south zone. We are proud of our collective efforts as a party and congratulate ourselves.
“At this stage, we must redouble efforts in mobilising our people again and encouraging them to remain focused so that we can massively deliver our units, wards, local government areas and state to the PDP in the forth-coming governorship and state assembly elections to the glory of God.”
He called on members of the party to be peaceful and vigilant as law abiding citizens of Nigeria.
