THE national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, yesterday congratulated the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on his victory at the presidential poll, saying the victory was a boost to opposition politics in Nigeria.
He also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat, adding that it showed his statesmanlike attributes.
While wishing Buhari well and describing his victory as good for democracy, the APGA national chairman encouraged him to adopt and implement the recommendations of the National Conference for the good of Nigeria.
Also, the leader of Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, in Anambra State, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, described Buhari’s victory and the speech made by President Jonathan in which he conceded defeat as a resounding progress in the nation’s democracy.
According to Ezeemo, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and President Jonathan have proved to the world that black men have great potentials and capacity to manage their affairs.
He said: “The pronouncement and acceptance by the incumbent president was a great show of patriotism on both sides.
“This is an indication that Nigeria has recorded a milestone in its democratic process. It shows how much Nigerians are developing and maturing politically and I am sure that by the next general election, greater improvements would be recorded and people with integrity and purpose of action will man affairs of this great country,
