As a result of the Easter celebration, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has ordered that the 7:30 pm to 6am curfew imposed on the State on Tuesday be lifted forthwith.
The governor, who urged Christians in the state to celebrate Easter peacefully, assured that all security agencies in the state have been placed on alert to react swiftly to any security breach during and after the Easter celebration.
According to a statement issued yesterday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose described Easter, which is about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as the most important event of the Christian faith.
Meantime, the 19 All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmakers in Ekiti State House of Assembly have vowed to resume a plenary session in the state House of Assembly after the Easter Break next week.
According to a statement issued in Ado Ekiti yesterday on their behalf by the Special Adviser on Media to Speaker Adewale Omirin, Wole Olujobi, said the APC lawmakers would resume at the Assembly next week to continue with their constitutional duty of making law.
The 19 APC lawmakers who made a brief appearance in the House Wednesday, last November left the House after a face-off with the state governor, Mr Ayo Fayose.
The seven Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, assemblymen loyal to the governor purportedly impeached Hon. Adewale Omirin and installed Hon. Dele Olugbemi
The state police commissioner, Mr Taiwo Lakanu, has subsequently directed his men to seal-off the House to prevent the outbreak of law and order.
