The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers state Mrs.Gesila Khan at the early hours of today monday 13th April 2015 indicated her interest to retire from service after announcing the candidate of the PDP in the just concluded governorship election in Rivers and subsequently issuing him with certificate of return.
Promise Uzoma Okoro gathered from the INEC sources in Rivers State that disclosed her readiness to retire from service any moment from now,it will be recalled that Mrs.Gesilah declared Wike winner of the Poll after disclosing that he pulled 1.2M votes to Defeat the APC candidate who pulled 124,896 Votes.
PUO reported yesterday that international observers called for the cancellation of the Poll, but the call did not reach the ears of the Rivers electoral Boss, not fewer that 17 political parties last week protested at the INEC office in Abuja calling for the redeployment of Mrs.Khan on grounds of compromise and taking sides with the PDP.
PUO reports that Mrs.Khan is from Bayelsa state, same with Nigeria’s outgoing President and the First Lady arrived Rivers State on what many believed was the final preparation to favour the PDP candidate in the state.
Whether in retirement or in service, she will forever be remembered for whatever she did in Rivers State whether she did well or not. Let her also remember the law of HARVEST I.e.what you so is what you reap. She should also remember that no matter how poor the harvest is, it is ALWAYS
GREATER than the seed. Posterity will judge her.
