Traditional Rulers from Ukwa-Ngwa axis in Abia state has asked the candidate of the All Progressive grand Alliance(APGA) Dr.Alex Oti to consider the interest of the Ngwa people and withdraw the suit he filled at the Abia state election tribunal sitting in Umuahia,Challenging the electoral victory of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu in the just concluded Governorship election in the state.
Promise Uzoma Okoro recalled that immediately after the declaration of Ikpeazu as the winner of the election,Alex Oti headed straight to the tribunal to challenge the results.
Making this known,Leader of the Ngwa traditional rulers Imperial Majesty Eze. Dr.I.A Ikonne told Alex Oti that this is a divine opportunity for the Ngwa people,who had suffered since the creation of Abia state in 1991,he went further to ask Oti to do the needful and withdraw the suit he had filled at the tribunal.
Reacting to the call by the Ngwa traditional rulers,Dr.Alex Oti dismissed the call. In his words “Eze, I agree, but will Abians who passed through turmoils to vote massively for me agree? I think you should plead with the people and not me. My mandate is people’s mandate. My victory is victory for majority of Abians who are fed up with bad governance. The fight is not about me, its about Abia for Abians.
