Abia state governor-elect, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the resolve of his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) opponent in the gubernatorial contest, Dr Alex Otti to challenge his victory at the election tribunal, describing it as a threat of a bad loser.
He said that he would await Otti and others that would go to the tribunal to challenge his victory, which he claims was ordained by God.

He however added that he anticipated such challenges hence he is fully prepared to defend it. “I expected it but they will lose again.”
He said in his Umuobiakwa country home in Obingwa local council area that the issue of his not winning the election never crossed his mind throughout the campaigns and wondered why there were still desperate losers who would not concede defeat at the poll as president Goodluck Jonathan willingly conceded to General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
He attributed his success first to the will of God, then to his Ukwa Ngwa desire and demand to produce the state governor for the first time, the zoning of the position to his Abia South zone by the PDP and the block votes he got from the nine Ukwa Ngwa LGAs and other state electorate that support orderly rotation of governorship among the three senatorial zones of the state.
“Out the three state senatorial zones, Abia North and Abia Central had taken their turns to produce the state governor, leaving Abia South zone that I come from. You see that I got overwhelming block votes from my Obingwa LGA which is natural,” he asserted.
He assured Abians, whom he thanked for voting for him massively, that he will see the entire state as his constituency and pledged to catalyse the unity and even development of the entire state, saying that within his first 100 days in office, the main frame of his administration would have been in place and hit the ground running.
