Abia State Governor Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu has directed all those who had offered to award him some chieftaincy titles to hold on pending the outcome of the Election Petition Tribunal.
The Governor made this known via a Press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Godwin Adindu ,He disclosed that he has received many letters and proposals
from groups, organizations and communities expressing intention to
honour the governor with one award, chieftaincy title or the other, said
the governor is not disposed to such accolades for now.
He
stated that the current administration is not going to be a regime of
awards and titles but a regime of work and that it is the evidence of
performance that will vindicate the governor.

Secretary noted that while he appreciates the meditated kindness,
goodwill and genuine intention of such groups, he would also like to
inform the general public that such accolades should be a testimony and a
celebration of work and performance, adding that the people should wait
for the work to be completed before rolling out drums.
It will be recalled that few days to his tenure,Ikpeazu banned any encomium and the use of His Excellency,Executive et al in any communication to Him.
