Rivers State Governor Barr Nyesom Wike is set to announce the dissolution of the 22 council Chairmen who were elected on 23rd May 2015 by the former Governor Of the state Rt.Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Justice Akambi of the Federal High Court sitting in Portharcourt had issued an injuction restraining the state own Electoral Commision from conducting Local Government Election in the state,by the leadership of the electoral body under Prof.Ahiazu went ahead to conduct the election which saw the emergence of the 22 Council Chairmen and their Councilors.
PUO REPORTS Learnt that the Chairmen had met the National Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress(APC) Over the withholding of their Monthly allocation by the Rivers State Governor Barr.Nyesom Wike,a close source who revealed the details of the meeting between the Chairmen and the Leadership of their party stated that the National Chairman Mr.John Oyegun assured the Chairmen that the Party will abide by the dictates of the law.
It was also reported that the 22 Chairmen also withdraw the suit challenging the move by Wike to Dissolve the Chairmen.
It will be recalled that Chibuike Amaechi and Nyesom Wike had been on supremacy battle over who controls the affairs of Rivers State
