The Rivers State Governor Barr.Nyesom Wike has blamed Nigeria’s President Mohammadu Buhari over the action of the Rivers State Police Command,who barricaded the 23 Local Government Councils Today.
Wike was speaking during the Swearing in of the members of state Judicial Commision,Rivers State Independent Electoral Commision,Rivers State Assembly Commision,among others.
According To Governor Wike” The change Nigeria’s were Promised has been witnessed here in Rivers State,Rivers People woke up to see that the Nigeria Police had taken Over the Local Government Council’s,thats the Change Nigerians wish”Wike stated.
Speaking on behalf of other members,the Chairman of the state Judicial Commision who is also the acting Chief Judge of the state Justice Daisy Okocha,thanked the Governor for seeing them worlthy to serve,she assured the governor that the commision will restore sanity in the state Judiciary.
It will be recalled that A Federal High Court presided over by Justice Lambo Akambi nullified the MAY 23rd Local Government Election in Rivers,a development which the state APC Rejected in toto.
It is not yet clear,the faction of the Chairmen the Nigeria Police will permit acces into the Local Government Councils.
