The Senatorial Candidate of the APC in Rivers South Senatorial District Of Rivers State in the March 28th National Assembly Election Sen.Magnus Abe has debunked rumors making round that he is planning to defect to the PDP.
Magnus a One Time Secretary to the Rivers State Government under former Governor Amaechi before he was elected as Senator in 2011,described the rumor as the plot by mischief makers to cause disaffection between him and his Party.
” I was one of the eleven members of the PDP that had the courage to stand in front of the leadership of Nigeria and defected to the APC when PDP was in power. If I defect to PDP now, what do I want? Do I want to be a Commissioner? Do I want to be a Secretary to the State Government? Do I want to be a local government chairman? I heard somebody said I want to be G.M of RSTV (long laughter). Let’s be realistic.
Magnus angrily responding to Journalist at the APC state Secretariat headquarters in Portharcourt maintained that PDP is a bye gone party in Nigerias History,so only one who don’t want to move forward will consider PDP as an option
“What has PDP got to offer me? When they had something to give me and they offered me, I turned it down because I knew they had no power to give anything after May 29th. Is it now that I can stroll in and out of the Villa that I will now defect to PDP? I practically lived in Government House. I was Minority Leader in the Rivers State House of Assembly. I was Commissioner of Information in this State. I was Secretary to Rivers State Government. Now I want to enter the Villa, you say I should come back here…stop that!
