The move by Counsel’s to the Peoples Democartic Party candidate for Ahoada Est/Abual Odua Federal Constituency Hon.Mrs.Betty Apiafi and the Independent National Electoral Commision(INEC) praying the National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja To Dismiss the Petition brought by the candidate of the APC Hon.Robinson Nnamdi Ewor over the failure of his party to notify INEC within the 21 days stipulated in the Electoral act has suffered Huge rejection.
Robinson Ewor had gone to the Tribunal to challenge the declaration of the candidate of the PDP as winner of the march 28 House Of Representative Election for Ahoada East/Abua Odual Federal Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commsion(INEC)
While ruling on the preliminary objection by the Counsel to the PDP,the Tribunal maintained that matters regarding errors during the Primary election are pre-election matters,and so therefore the Tribunal was not constituted to look into such matters,but disputes arrising from the conduct of the election.
Puo Reports recalled that a similar objection was ruled in favour of the PDP in the case Dawari George Vs Boma Goodhead and Lucky Odili Vs Prince Obi of Akukuo Toru/Asari Toru and Ogba-Egbema Ndoni Federal Constituencies.
By this ruling,it is now clear the same judgement will be delivered in favour of the APC on Wednesday 29th July 2015 in the case Dakuku Vs Wike.
