I think it is completely absurd and pathetic when we see, only the aides and the agents of the governor frantically calling for his re-election. This insults the sensibilities of Bayelsan’s as though the have no yardstick of measuring his performance and generally incompetent of this assessment. To my mind it further goes to stress that their fears of his possible rejection by the people is so intense that it stimulates the need to them to force their bias appraisal down our throats.
There is an implied threat of take it or leave it, in their tone, which characterizes the dictatorial posture of their principal and Master. It then call for wonder and question the truth and facts of their assertions. Fortunately, the people have realized the power of their vote. The government realizing this has employed the likes of Alams to redirect our minds of an influence by the hausas and Yourubas who want to take over Bayelsa. This is the most pathetic argument that has been thrown so far. Was it not an hausa man that accepted GEJ as his Vice and was it not a Yoruba man that made it possible ? Infact was it not an hausa man that created Bayelsa ? When we hear things like this, it really goes to show the need to cut away and Change the crop of leaders we have been having in the state, these mediocres with parochial minds, especially the Ganuwa of Katsina who was the first to lead Bayelsa to the north for an alliance. As for Dickson, he has run out of steam and grace, and so he peddles and cajoles subscribers for endorsements from all sectors in the state, from religious, to market men and women. But there is a defenning silence from the civil servants and majority of Bayelsans who are eagerly waiting for Dec 5th to vote him out. We have had enough of this tyrant who insults his people as short timers and lazy people. His time is up and Dickson Must go !

Voting the Governor is not only about individual wealth creation, but the sincere and competent ability to manage the resources, capable to stimulate the minds of the people to chart their own destiny, but when u have a governor, who believes that his people are “useless” then his mindset will not be focused on developing the potential of his people. We want a Governor that understands the great capacity as u have noted, that will crystallize their minds and efforts towards productivity. Most of the civil servants don’t have an idea what their jobs are, it is the place of the Chief Executive to format a functional system that will, not only generate wealth but sustained development. If like many and maybe you also think, that one should not focus on Government or its leaders, why then should we subscribe our individuality and collective sovereignty to them, this will be calling for chaos and anarchy. as it is now, people are suppressed and intimidated to accept whatever the Government dishes out. That is definitely not responsible for. both the leaders and followers. if we believe in the greatness of the state and its people by the value of the inherent potential that subsist, then we will actively clamor for the best, effective and a great leadership.
