It is no longer news that all the crème de la crème of Bayelsa politics has yesterday embraced change as over 1105 political gladiators dumped a sinking ship called PDP for the progressive train of APC…in what could best be described as the fatal fall of the walls of Jericho.
Considering the fact that Bayelsa is the fons et origo of the erstwhile President of Nigeria, Good luck Jonathan, who contested the seat with the present President, Muhammad Buhari, in the last presidential election…one will be gi-enormoursly flabber-whelmed to say that the fall, came so soon. But reactions from Bayelsans during the decamping event earlier yesterday, have given a weighty apologia, and have also alluded perfectly to the earlier cries and decent of Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who was the lonely voice crying in the wilderness of Niger Delta, demystifying the nonperformance of GEJ, especially to his own people of Niger Delta. Today, AMAECHI is vindicated…he is now heralded as a hero and not the valian that pro-GEJ forces painted him to be.
One of the reasons put up by Rivers PDP as to why they voted against BUHARI, despite his better pedigree, was that they can’t turn their back on their son GEJ, no matter his failure…
It is against this backdrop that I wish to question if it is possible for Rivers PDP people to be more Bayelsan than the Bayelsans; considering that even the present PDP party chairman of Bayelsa was among the multitude that did approached mount Olympus yesterday to say a CABOODLE REJECTAMENTA to the misrule of Jonathan and his Machiavellian party, PDP!
