There is a serious tension in Rivers state following the directive given to the Rivers State election petition Tribunal by the Court of Appeal Sitting in Abuja over the eligibilty status of Hon.Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressive Congress in the last April Governorship Election.
The Appeal court while ruling on the appeal brought by counsel to the Rivers State over the deferment of the eleigibilty status of Dre.Dakuku Peterside
While the Tribunal led by its former Chairman Justice Muazu Abdukadir Pindiga deffered ruling on the Preliminary objection brought by the counsel to the Independent National Electoral Commision(INEC) On the argument that Dr.Dakuku Peterside and the APC did not notify Inec as stipulated in the electoral act as amended.
There were palpable fear last Thursday following the appearance of a new Chairman of the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal Justice Mohammed Ambrosa on the directive of the President of the Court of Appeal who is still on a vacation in Australia.
It is not clear what the Tribunal will rule today,but feeders coming in from Abuja confirmed that the Tribunal wont strike out the petition of the APC candidate Dr.Dakuku Peterside
