The Rivers State Election Tribunal Sitting in Abuja was today told by counsels to the Independent National Electoral Commision(INEC),Governor Nyesom Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)
At the continuation of hearing today on the petion brought by the candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside in the April 11th Governorship Election in Rivers State,a Representative of the Lead Counsel to INEC Alex Ejesone ESQ told the Tribunal that the inability of Onyechi Ikpeazu to appear before it today,followed his sudden illness
“I left the office after meeting with Dr.Ikpeazu SAN, i got in by 9:15 am
In our usual practice I called my lead counsel, he managed to pick the call and told me he is indisposed..
That he is trying to see if he can make it to court, finally he told me that he can’t make it to court.
On this note I am constrained to most respectful” He stated on Friday.
Recall that INEC was given 6days to open and close their defence,at yesterdays hearing,INEC was only able to provide 1 witness out of the 23 Electoral Officials that supervised the conduct of the April 11th Governorship election in Rivers State.
The Tribunal however oblidged to INEC’s prayer,but revealed to them by resumption of sitting on 28th September,INEC will be left with only 2days to end its DEFENCE
