Rivers State University Increases WAF Mark from 1.00 CGPA 1.5 CGPA

The Senate of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology has increases its Withdrawal For Academic Failure(WAF) Mark from the the normal 1.00 Cumulative Grade Percentage Average(CGPA) to 1.50 CGPA with effect from from the 2015/2016 academic session.

This was made known via an Internal Memorandum released by the registrar of the Institution Mrs D.C. Odimabo,according to the circular

“The Senate at its Emergency meetings held on  Monday 8th December 2014 approved that in according with NUC Guideline,the implementation of the new Minimum CGPA of 1.50 and the phasing out of pass degree in the University should take effect from the 2015/2016 Academic session”.

With this latest Development at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) Any student of the institution who fails to maintain 1.50 or Above CGPA within the Ist and Second Semester of every Academic Session will be sent packing by the Institution for Academic Failure.

In 2013,over 1000 Students in various Levels in the institution were Withdrawn For Academic Failure,even when the school was enforcing the rule on 1.00 CGPA
