The State House of Assembly election petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia the Abia state capital has Annuled the election of the Deputy Speaker and former Chief of staff to the Abia state Government Hon.Cosmos Ndukwe.
The Nullification of his election followed a rulling by the Chairman of the Abia state Assembly election petition Tribunal which answered the prayers of the candidate of the Progressive Peoples Allaince(PPA) for Bende North State Constituency Mr Chijioke Chukwu
Chijioke of the PPA had approached the Tribunal seeking among other reliefs,a declaration that the candidate of the PDP Hon Cosmos Ndukwe forged some of his certificates,Chijioke prayed the Tribunal to nullify the election that brought the candidate of the PDP to power in the April 11th State Assembly election in Abia State.
Chijioke who few months ago raised alarm over threats to his life for rejecting a N30Million niaria which the candidate of the PDP Hon.Cosmos Ndukwe offered him to withdraw his case at the Abia state election petition Tribunal stated in his petition that elections were rigged massively particularly in three wards in Bende North,Item Ward A,B and C.
The Tribunal today orderd for a rerun election in some wards in Bende North State Constiteunce
