The Abia state governorship election petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia,the Abia state capital has Upheld the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the April 11th and 2th Governorship election in the State.
The Tribunal Chairman Justice Usman Bwala while delivering judgement on the petition filled by the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) Dr.Alex Oti stated that Card Readers is not the only means of accreditation according to Section 149 of the electoral act.
The Judge also ruled that the petitioner Dr.Alex Oti failed to prove the criminal allegations contained in his petition to the Abia state governorship election tribunal,and that whoever that alleges must prove.
The Judge Ruled that reliefs 4 and 5 contained in the petition are contradictory,because the petitioner Dr.Alex Oti cannot say Nullify and Declare me winner at the same Time,the Judge thereby struck out his petition for lack of Merit.
