The court of appeal sitting in Akure has validated the election of Hon. kolade Akinjo, representing Ilaje/Ese Odo federal constituency.
The three-man panel led by Justice Abiyiri Shehu, dismissed the tribunal judgement that earlier nullified his election on the grounds of ineligibility for the polls.

Akinjo’s election had earlier been invalidated by the tribunal headed by Justice Antony Ogar, on October 6, 2015,based on the fact that he was not an eligible flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the April 11 election.
The tribunal had noted that, Akinjo was the candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the April 2014 inconclusive election for the Ilaje/Ese-odo federal constituency before he dumped the party for the PDP together with the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
