There are strong indications that the Nigerian Senate under Senator Bukola Saraki is on a move to close down Online Portal Sahara Reporters.
Few days ago,there has been outcry on the social media after Sahara Reporters exposed a bill seeking to clampdown on Facebook users.
At yesterday’s plenary,the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the Senate Senator Dino Melaye presented a point of Order tagging it Blackmail and Intimidation by Sahara Reporters.
He said Sahara Reporters are threat to democracy.
His matter was reffered to the committee on Ethics,Privileges and Public Petition with that of cybercrime and Judiciary.
The committee are to report within three weeks to the House
