The Hope by the Leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State to produce an Acting Governor of the state has failed following the resignation of the Ex Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji Igbanyi today.

Hon Ikuinyi Owaji Igbanyi’s election was annuled by the Rivers State National/State Assembly election petition tribunal which sat in Abuja in October.
The tribunal had nullified the Andoni State Constituency Election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct a fresh election in the Constituency within 90days.
Although Hon Ikuinyi Owaji Igbanyi Appealed the judgement of the Tribunal at the Court of Appeal, but PUO REPORTS investigation revealed that the Judge handling his case has been detailed to uphold the rulling of the lower tribunal by ordering for a fresh election.
The New Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Rt Hon Daboturidima Adams has had his election upheld by the tribunal and the Court of Appeal respectively long ago, as his rival the candidate of the APC in Okrika State Constituency petition was struck out on technical grounds.

Incidentally Appeal court is the last stage of Legislative Appeals.
The Leadership of the APC had boasted that it will Install the Acting Governor of the state since according to the party the Appeal court will nullify the 29Seats in the Assembly,since the candidate of the Party for Phalga Constituency 1 Hon Victoria Nyeche will be declared winner of the election by the Appeal court next week.
HON. Josiah Johnson olu who represents Eleme Constituency in the Assembly will have his election upheld by the Appeal court next week.
