Release or non release of three suspects : The facts By Rivers Govt

It is unfortunate  that  the  Rivers State APC  has resorted to the politicisation of the criminal  justice  system, by engaging in unnecessary  propaganda over the release  or non  release of three suspects from prison custody  .
This was a matter that was handled  directly by the Department  of  Public Prosecution of the Rivers State Ministry of Justice had nothing to  do  with the office of the Rivers State Governor.
The Department  of Public Prosecution closely  examined the  details contained in the case file after it was forwarded  to it by the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State Judiciary   and the Police Investigation Report  and came to the conclusion  that the charge filed is not supported  by  facts as contained in the case file . There was no complainant, no witness or statement  contained in the case file that linked the suspects  to the killing  of the soldiers  and  the  robbery at  Diamond Bank, Trans-Amadi Port Harcourt on August 28, 2015 and October 14, 2015 respectively  .
Though the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Police  Command accused the suspects  of being allegedly  involved  in  the murder of two soldiers on August 28,2015 and the robbing of Diamond  Bank on October 14, 2015 ,  they failed to attach any form of evidence on Charge No. PMC/1447C/2015 linking the suspects  to the said crimes.
We advise  the Rivers State APC to desist from playing  politics  with the criminal  justice  system  and  the  security  architecture  of the state. The criminal  justice system must be  insulated  from politics at all times.
It is uncharitable  that the Rivers State APC  would want to link Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike  to a purely legal issue that was handled on the merit of the case by the  office  of  the Department   of Public Prosecution of the  Rivers State Ministry of Justice .
Governor  Wike  is a promoter of the rule of law who will never take any action to undermine  the  process of dispensation  of  justice.
