A former Speaker of the Rivers State house of Assembly and Candidate of the All Progressive Congress for Rivers West Senatorial Re-run Rt Hon Otelemaba Dan Amachree has stepped down from the Race,sources told PUO REPORTS.

Amachree who lost the March 28th Rivers West Senatorial election to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Senator Osinakachukwu Ideozu said his decision to step down is personnal and not because he was afraid of loosing again to the PDP candidate.
Although he is yet to make official pronouncement on this latest developement,but sources close to him say he may issue a Press Statement within the next 48hrs.

His decision to step down from the race may not be unconnected to the monumental defeat suffered by his partys Governorship candidate in the April 11th governorship election in the hands of governor Nyesom Wike
