Four candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the
forthcoming March 19 State and National Assembly rerun elections in
Rivers State have perfected plans to align with the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) led government in the state, South-South Crow can
authoritatively report.
The affected candidates (names withheld) have in series of meetings
with the PDP leadership finalized plans to join forces with Governor
Nyesom Wike soon after the elections which they hope of winning.
According to an impeccable source who craved anonymity, the four
State House of Assembly candidates have vowed to resist any attempt by
the opposition APC to impeach Wike should APC emerges the majority in
the house after the rerun elections.
The source maintained; “the governor is in shopping spree to woo more
members of the APC candidates to his side, no matter the cost.”
However, when contacted, one of the candidates of the APC Dr. Romsan
Dressman who runs for Andoni Constituency who spoke with our
correspondence debunked the rumours of any alliance with the PDP,
maintaining that all APC candidates are intact and working with the
party.
He also denied stepping down for his opponent, Ikwunyi Ibani, the
Rivers Assembly Speaker who was ousted by the Election Petition Tribunal
as recently rumoured in some social media platform.
