The Nigerian Navy has rescued a supply vessel, MV Bourbon, which was hijacked by yet-to-be identified persons, who abducted a Nigerian and Russian crew.

A statement signed by Captain S. Dahu (for the Chief of Naval Staff), said NNS CENTURY carried out the rescue operation, following an alert by owners of the hijacked ship, which was rescued some 55 nautical miles (NM) off Brass, Rivers State.
It added that authorities will carry out a thorough investigation, with a view to identifying and apprehending the perpetrators of the act, and possibly, the motive.
Meanwhile the Navy said it had earlier rescued a foreign oil tanker, with an 18-member crew from Pakistan, China, Sudan, South Korea and Ghana.
