The Nigerian Air force says it has captured a fake recruitment syndicate posing as recruitment agents for the Force and other security agencies.
Force Spokesman, Dele Famuyiwa speaking in Abuja on Friday said the recruitment exercise into the Nigerian Air force, which is currently ongoing, has been hijacked by the syndicate, which collects money with promises to assist candidates to get recruited into the Nigerian Army, Airforce, Road safety and the Civil Defence Corp.
He said the investigation that led to the arrest of the impostors followed allegations that the Nigerian Air force is charging fees for its ongoing recruitment exercise contrary to directive by the Federal Government to make it free.
He also stated that an Air provost arrested Musa Ibrahim Babangida, aka facilitator, in Abuja who confessed to have collected money from a number of persons.
The Airforce further reiterated that the Nigerian Air force does not charge for registration nor sell application form for recruitment into the service, adding that anyone with information on activities of illicit recruitment agents should contact the Nigerian Air Force.
