Players of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos, would have been #250, 000 richer had they met the target set for them in their match day 3 tie against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan on Saturday.
The Oluyole Warriors defeated MFM FC 3-0. Prior to the game one of the Pastors of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries who preferred to be anonymous promised to give the players #50,000 for every goal scored as a way of motivating them and also vowed to double the money if they emerged winners.
The Pastor said; “I want to congratulate you guys for making it to the top flight, I want to strike a deal with you guys, I will give #50,000 to the team for every goal scored, I will even double the money at the end of 90 minutes,” he said.
MFM FC stand in captain of the day, Okpara Austine, appreciated the Pastor as they promised to score five goals and return to base with #250, 000 but the full time result didn’t go their way.
“Sir, we want to say a very big thanks to you, we will do everything humanly possible to score at least five goals so that we can have #250, 000 at the end of the day, once again sir, we want to say thank you for coming around to support and motivate us,” he stated.
