Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson has said the government would support efforts to reunite Ese with her family in Yenagoa, as well as ensure her proper rehabilitation and reintegration into the society.
He thanked individuals, non-governmental and civil society groups for bringing the matter to national and international focus.
Governor Dickson lauded his Kano State counterpart Abdullahi Ganduje for his role in Ese’s release and praised security agencies for handling the matter with swiftness and professionalism.
Dickson thanked the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II, for ensuring the safety of Ese and eventual handing over to the police. “The government and people of Bayelsa State will remain eternally grateful to all those, who contributed in one way or the other in giving the issue the desired attention,” he said
