What is Impact?
“Impact” means the following: have a strong effect on someone or something.
Synonyms: affect, influence, have an effect, have an influence, exert influence, make an impression, etc.
What is Positive?
“Positive” means the following:
Desirable, admirable, beneficial, good, favorable, useful, helpful, productive, progressive, pleasing or encouraging.
“Impact” is the effect of an encounter. Positive Impact leaves you better than you were before encounter but Negative Impact leaves you either worse than you were or as you were before the encounter.
You are designed for positive impact. This is a conceptual design made by God in Genesis 1:26 and it reads thus, “And God said, Let us (God is involved) make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion (God is not involved) over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” God have not created man before Genesis 1:26 was written.
The question that should readily come to your mind is: Do you leave people better or worse after encountering you? or Are there people who can testify that after encountering you, their lives became better?
You are created to make positive impact on everything that you come in contact with, be it human beings or otherwise. Is your car better after you bought it?
Positive Impact is about seizing the moment to create a positive impact on people, places and things that you encounter.
Positive Impact begets Positive Impact. Whenever you impact someone positively, it inspires the person to inspire another person.
Positive Impact Mentality is the mindset that you are created to be a blessing to others and not a burden. It is an attitude that I am created to be a solution provider and not a problem. You don’t depreciate yourself and expect others to appreciate you. Only scavengers are attracted to a person with a low self esteem. Find a man you will be a blessing to and not a man you will become a burden to. You are created for positive impact.
Types of Impact
Nil Impact: is leaving a person the same way you met him. That is you do not leave that person better or worse than you met him. This type of impact is not positive impact.
Negative Impact: is leaving a person worse than you met him.
Your impact is measured by the vacuum your absence creates.
Anytime you don’t wash your teeth properly, you are positioned to make a negative impact. When you take care of certain parts of your body, you are positioned to make a positive impact.
It is very important to know that you are carrying “treasures” inside of you. Treasure can only add value when it is developed. “Treasure” is like “crude oil”. “Crude oil” is unrefined petroleum product composed of hydrocarbon deposits. Crude oil can be refined to produce usable products such as gasoline, diesel and various forms of petrochemicals.
The hidden treasure is deposited in us by God, our Creator. As God’s creation, you are carrying something of great value and you must use the resources God has deposited inside of you for His Glory.
You borrowed this life from your parents and you must give it back to your children. You can only give it back in “value” or in “vacuum”.
How do I make a Positive Impact?
1. Be a Solution Provider
PROBLEM – SOLUTION – VALUE – WEALTH – PROSPERITY
To make a Positive Impact you must seek to become a Solution provider. Every problem is an opportunity to make a maximum impact. You are a container of solutions that should be seeking for problems to solve. Don’t become a frustration seeking for an expression. Turn your frustrations into an assignment to be solved. Don’t be intimidated by your frustrations.
Whenever “solution” turns into “complain”, “prosperity” turns into “poverty”. It is possible to make billions of Naira in Nigeria because there are so many problems looking for solutions in Nigeria. Developed Nations have few problems and almost have solved their problems.
Every time solution is created, value is created; every time value is created, wealth is created and every time wealth is created, prosperity is created.
Whenever you create value, it may not pay at the time the value is created but for sure, the value must attract wealth. Everything that you put your hands to, that God will bless. Your prayer should be, “God what is it that you have blessed for my life that I should put my hands into”.
When value is maintained and multiplied, it turns into Prosperity.
Discover areas of human needs today and proffer a solution to them. There is a glory in you seeking for manifestation and when manifested, don’t fail to return back the glory to God. You are given a glory for God’s Glorification.
May the work of your hands shine like a marvelous light. The purpose of God is that you should shine in the area of your calling with the glory He has deposited in you and in turn, bring back the glory to HIM. Once you become a child of God, you are associated with a brand (GOD) that can never fail. If you are a failure, it then means you are a “Brand Erroder”.
