As the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) continues its deliberate delays in the announcement of already collated results from the March 19th 2016 National and State Assembly Rerun elections in Rivers State,Concerned Rivers Youths are set to protests against the Commission in Portharcourt.
President General of the Group Comrade Isreal Amadi told PUO REPORTS that the action of the Prof Mahmud Yakubu led Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in denying its people the right to representation at the National Assembly calls for a serious caution.
He stated that his group has concluded that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State Mr Aniedi Ikoiwak is acting under external influence clearly coming from a Chieftain of the APC from Rivers State.
He said it was unconstitutional that the National Assembly will be carrying out legislative business without a single Senator from Rivers State.
The date of the protests has not been made available to PUO REPORTS,but there are indications that the group is already mobilising Youths across the 23 Local Government Areas who will participate in the protests.
It will be recalled that INEC had after the conclusion of the March 19th Rerun National and State Houses of Assembly election in Rivers State suspended further actions after declaring only 11 state Assembly and 4 Federal House of Representatives results till date
