The Abia state chapter of the people’s Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that the embattled Governor elect of the state, Dr Uche Oga had promised the Chief John Oyegun led All Progressives Congress, APC, to join them on assumption of office.
The party who made the allegation through it publicity secretary, Sir Don Ubani equally alleged that the governor elect gave the National chairman of the independent National Electoral commission, INEC,prof Mahmood yakubu money that was why the electoral umpire hurriedly issued Dr Oga with a certificate of return as the rightful winner of the December 2014 PDP governorship election in the state in obedience to an Abuja federal High court judgement, Monday ordering it to issue Dr Oga with the certificate of return when all judicial processes are yet to be exhausted .
PDP condemned INEC for the rush, adding that hence the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu had filled a notice of Appeal and stay of execution, the commission wouldn’t had did what it did if it had no sinister motive.
