President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday directed Security Chiefs in the Country not to be part of any plot to Inaugurate the President Of Masters Energy Oil and Gas Dr Uche Ogah pending the outcome of the Appeal Filed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu against the Judgement of Justice Abang Okon of the Abuja Federal High Court.
Justice Abang Okon had on the 27th of June 2016 disqualified Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and ordered INEC to issue Certificate of Return to Dr Uche Ogah who was favored by the Judgement which since has spark controversy over the haisty nature of INEC.
It will recalled that the President Of Masters Energy Oil and Gas Dr Uche Ogah had collected Certificate of return from the INEC National Commissioner incharge of South East and headed straight to Abia State for Inauguration by the Chief Judge of the State.
But before his arrival in Umuahia,an Osisioma High Court had given an Exparte Order preventing the Chief Judge of Abia State from carrying such exercise pending the outcome of the Appeal by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Justice Abang Okon fixed today to rule on the stay of execution Application by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and there are signs that the Judge will reject the Application.
But the Presidency has ordered that despite the outcome of the ruling today, status quo should be maintained pending the exhausting of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s right to Appeal.
