Authorities of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akongba, AAUA, Ondo State has announced the suspension of Abudu Tajudeen Kolawole a 400 Level student of Political Science over an alleged involvement in N16 millions internet fraud.
EFCC operatives EFCC operatives The institution, Thursday also debunked claims that the suspect name is Adebiyi Tayo Abudu, a 300 Level Mathematics student of the University as reported by some media houses.
It maintained that the suspect’s real name is Abudu Tajudeen Kolawole a 400 Level student of Political Science.
The Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr Sola Imoru said: “We wish to inform the general public that the suspect gave a fake identity to the EFCC.
“His real name (on our record) is Abudu Tajudeen Kolawole and he is a 400 Level student of Political Science of the University.” He said that in line with the Regulation of the University, Abudu Tajudeen Kolawole has been suspended from the University pending the conclusion of investigation and prosecution by the anti-graft body.
The suspension, according to him, is in line with the extant rule of the University to place on suspension, any student allegedly involved in a criminal act either within or outside the University until the conclusion of his or her case by the investigating or prosecuting authority and the relevant University Disciplinary Committee.
“Therefore, Abudu Tajudeen Kolawole is advised to stay clear of the University campus except when expressly invited by the University authorities,” he said.
It will be recalled that on Monday, the EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, arrested five suspected undergraduate scammers. Four from the Federal University of Technology Akure, (FUTA) and one from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, (AAUA).
They were picked up at an Off- Campus Residence located at Anuoluwapo Close, Stateline Hotel Road, off FUTA South Gate, Akure, Ondo State.
