RENOWNED cleric and Rivers State Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Mr. Edison Daminabo, has called on Christians in the North not to avenge the killings of their brethren in the northern part of the country.

Daminabo, who also described the killings of Christians in the North as a blessing to the faith, expressed worries over the recurrent killings and kidnappings in Rivers State.

The cleric made this remark in Port Harcourt on Tuesday while briefing newsmen ahead of the visit of the church’s General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, for a crusade tagged, ‘Rivers Double Portion’ in the state capital on Saturday.

Daminabo pointed out that the killing of men of God in the North by suspected Muslim extremists was just for a while, adding that the Christian faith would thrive.

The cleric noted that it was not ordinary that people would take up arms against men of God, maintaining that the act would only strengthen Christianity in the nation.

The church leader also averred that God would revenge the killings of His people in due time, stressing that any Christian that takes up the fight will lose heaven.

Daminabo said, “Sometimes, killing is a blessing. We will not revenge, because we don’t fight for God. Any Christian that fights back will not make heaven.

“The crusade is the vanguard that will bring relief to the people of the state. It will take care of the kidnapping and killings in the state.”
