Gas Cylinder Explosion Injures 77 in Spain

About 77 persons have been  wounded with five of them injured seriously, after a gas cylinder exploded on Saturday, September 01, 2016 in an eatery in the the Spanish town of Velez-Malaga on the southern coast.

This was revealed by a spokesman for the Andalucia region’s emergency unit.

he disclosed that the explosion happened at about 1700 GMT during a festival in the town, which is 40 kilo meter east of the popular tourist destination of Malaga.

A Video clip circulated on social media showed people fleeing a fire inside a small restaurant called “la Bohemia: close to the center of Velez-Malaga, with the street outside covered in debris.

Fortunately none of those seriously injured were at the risk of death,as stated by a spokesman for the local hospital.

He further disclosed that majority of the injuries were cuts and bruises.

According to El pais newspaper a cook at the restaurant was able to alert customers to a fire in the kitchen, which gave most enough time to escape serious injury
