RELATIVES of the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi, on Wednesday defended the minister against bribery allegations raised against him by two Supreme Court justices, Justice Inyang Okoro and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta.
The relatives, under the aegis of Concerned Ikwerre People for Sustainable Advancement, stated that the allegations against Amaechi were meant to demean the minister.
A leader of the group, Mr. Azubuike Wanjoku, who is the President-General of Ikwerre Youth Movement, said Amaechi’s detractors were using the two judges to paint the minister bad before the public.
“Rather than explain how they came about their new status as bureau de change, they have chosen to drag innocent people into their personal matters. Our consolation is that there is a judge higher than these judges and courts which are incorruptible.
“We advise Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Ngwuta to face the shame of the corruption scandal, prepare for their trial and leave Amaechi alone,” he said.
