The Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Bedere, Gokhana Local Government Area of Rivers State, was yesterday rocked by bomb explosion.
Though the State Police Command has confirmed the incident, there was no report of casualties.
Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alleged the arrest of some of its supporters at various polling units, and the use of security agents to rig the elections in favour of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our correspondent gathered that there was no election in ward 4, unit 3, Ogo/Bolo LGA following the hijack of election materials by suspected thugs.
There were also reports of protests by potential voters at various polling units in Ahoda West LGA following alleged manipulation of the voting process by supporters of the APC.
Similar protests were recorded in Tai LGA where supporters of the PDP called for the postponement of the polls following alleged rigging of the elections by agents of APC.
In Bonny and Eleme LGAs, there were reports of malfunctioning of card reader machines.
There were equally reports of sporadic gun shots in Abonema and Akuku Toru Local Government Areas of the state, to scare aware potential voters.
