Abia: Ikpeazu Announces Ban On Revenue Collection Agents

Abia State Government has announced a Ban on the use of agents as Revenue collectors beginning from January 2017.

The State Government said its leaving no stone unturned to ensure increase in her internally generated revenue from the 2017 fiscal year.

A statement signed by the State’s Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, who is also the Chairman of the State’s Internally Generated Revenue Council advised Abians to avoid paying any revenue agent or “consultant” who claims to be acting on behalf of the state from the fiscal year 2017 and going forward

He stated that the Internally Generated Revenue Police of  the state did not provide for appointment of revenue agents.

“MDAs are by this notice directed not to appoint any agent for the year 2017, as Abia State Government will not be held liable for any contravention”.

“All Revenue matters must be directed to the IGR council”. He Stated
