Disaster struck in Lagos Friday morning as a luxury bus allegedly coming from Enugu and fully loaded with passengers plunged into the Ikorodu River in the outskirt of Lagos.
The accident was reported to have have occurred at Owode-Elede Ikorodu area of Lagos on Friday after a GUO bus conveying travellers from Enugu plunged into a lagoon.
According to the spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, three people, including the driver have been recovered dead.
He said although the accident occurred around 3am, search and rescue was ongoing as at 9am.
So far about 9 survivors were rescued and attended to at Lagos State Emergency Trauma at Toll Gate Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
It has also been confirmed that there are no more victim in the river as 48 survivors and 3 deaths were the total casualty recorded.
