The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of being responsible for the internal crisis rocking the party.
PDP decried the continuous support given to the Ali Modu-Sheriff faction by the All Progressives Congress (APC) accusing it of causing the crisis in the party.
In a communique issued at the end of its stakeholders meeting in Akure, the state capital and attended by the former Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, the party said the APC has continued to fester on the crisis in the PDP.
The National Vice Chairman (South West), Eddy Olafeso, who read the communique said: “We condemn emphatically the desperate politics that the APC has continued to prosecute in the nation.
“It’s penchant for undermining institutions, compromising elections and also the sponsorship of crisis in our party by clandestinely providing logistic support to the Sheriff group.”
The meeting, which was attended by the governorship candidate in the last election, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) and Southwest zonal secretary, Bunmi Jenyo, concluded that the party’s failure in the state was as a result of the roles played by Jimoh Ibrahim.
