-Says Nikolas Anyanwu is an Impostor”
The Northern Nigeria Unit Leaders of the Assemblies of God Nigeria rose from a meeting in Abuja on Sunday, dissociating themselves from the reported formation of an independent General Council.
One of the suspended former Church leader in the area, Rev. Nicholas Anyanwu had reportedly announced that the Northern bloc had pulled out of the Church.
However, speaking at an enlarged meeting, attended by all the unit leaders, they pledged their total loyalty to the Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor as the General Superintendent of the Church.
A six-point communique signed by Rev Bawa Gadima, the Kaduna South District Superintendent and a member of the Executive Committee of the Assemblies Of God Nigeria Representing North West Zone on behalf of 31 other Unit Leaders from the North read: “The Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God Nigeria rose from the General Council meeting held on the 7thday of April, 2017 and issues the following communique:
That the Assemblies of God Nigeria is one Church under the Almighty God and accordingly registered in Nigeria in accordance to the laws of Nigeria as CAT/IT/No.349.
That only the Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God Nigeria are authorized by law to hold any property of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, any other person holding any property of the Assemblies of God Nigeria in defiance of the clear provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act should be prosecuted accordingly.
That the laws of Nigeria forbids any person or group of people who are not under the Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God Nigeria from bearing the name of Assemblies of God Nigeria.
That the Assemblies of God Nigeria has Districts in the Northern Nigeria with their various District Superintendents under the Incorporated Trustees of The Assemblies of God Nigeria; any other person or group of persons claiming to be the Northern Assemblies of God General Council is an impostor and a fraud.
“That Nicholas Anyanwu who claims in a publication on Daily Trust 7th April, 2017 to be the spokesperson of a phantom Northern leader of the Assemblies of God Nigeria was disciplined alongside Paul Emeka, specifically for selling church land at Gwarimpa FCT, to a hotelier and claiming to have graduated from Nigeria Advance School of Theology, when indeed he was lacking in 91 credit hours out of the 108 credit hours required, thereby gravely falling short of the requirements and expectations of a worthy Reverend of the Assemblies of God Nigeria”.
“That Paul Emeka remains suspended, excommunicated, dismissed and disfelloshiped by the Assemblies of God Nigeria as affirmed by the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, the Supreme Court having dismissed his appeal; he has been accordingly charged to court for forgery.”
The Unit Leaders called on the Northern Governors to disregard the claim by Nikolas Anyanwu saying that Assemblies Of God Nigeria is one under the Leadership of Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor as General Superintendent
